Mina Minou is a queer, femme, Iranian-American, multimedia artist. Working with whatever is at hand, she uses a mix of visual, literary and performative arts in order to share her narrative. Characterized by her attention to detail, she is heavily influenced by folklore, spirituality and surrealism in all that she does.
The focus of her work is three-fold; first to bring beauty to her viewer while also bending magic, reality and surrealism together in a way that both comforts and intrigues her audience. Second, to help expand the representation of non-european beauty standards by uplifting a female gaze on a variety of women, queer, and poc bodies. And third, to add to the already existing narrative in the art world that plays with the question of our mortality and the impermanence of humankind.
