Smell the Flowers: Galerie Hexad’s Still Alive: Art and the Passing of Time Places Art Beside Blooms
Still Alive: Art and the Passing of Time, a group exhibit by Galerie Hexad curated in collaboration with Rian Ilyssa, opens at Atelier Galerie 2112 (2112 Rue Amherst, Montréal) September 3rd and runs until the 10th. Galerie Hexad will host a wine and cheese vernissage on Thursday, September 5th, from 6pm to 9pm (Link to Facebook event).
This exhibition showcases the work of Jose Guillermo Garcia Sierra, Camellia Jahanshahi, Roxanne Lapointe, Alexey Lazarev, Margarita Lypiridou, Tara McGowan-Ross, Alexia McKindsey, and Laurence Thériault-Lainé. In media including watercolour, photography, and oils, they explore the natural world, the passing of time, and the unchanging nature of art.
Ilyssa will present eco-friendly floral arrangements alongside the artworks. As the flowers droop and decay, the art will remain untouched on the walls—at least for the duration of the exhibit.
As a primarily online art gallery, Hexad wants to take this opportunity to showcase the work of its artists in Atelier 2112’s bright, eclectic space. All are welcome to attend. Hexad looks forward to meeting artists and art-lovers interested in building community and supporting exciting, rising local artists.
